PLAGIARISM POLICY
The Editorial Board of Verba: Jurnal Bahasa Inggris recognizes that plagiarism is an unacceptable practice in scholarly publishing. Therefore, this journal establishes the following plagiarism policy, including actions and sanctions that will be applied if indications of plagiarism are found in manuscripts submitted for publication in Verba: Jurnal Bahasa Inggris.
Manuscripts submitted to Verba: Jurnal Bahasa Inggris must be original works, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration for publication in any other journal. Any quotations or materials taken verbatim from other sources must be clearly indicated by: (1) separate or indented formatting, (2) the use of quotation marks, and (3) proper citation of the original source. An exception is granted for manuscripts derived from institutional repositories in the form of students’ final projects (undergraduate theses, master’s theses, or dissertations), provided that they have not been published in scientific media bearing an ISSN or ISBN.
The use of text beyond fair use limits, defined as more than two or three consecutive sentences or their equivalent, as well as the use of images, tables, figures, or graphics from other sources, requires written permission from the copyright holder and, where possible, from the original author. All such materials must be accompanied by proper acknowledgment and citation of the original publication.
All submitted manuscripts will be screened for similarity using Plagiarism Checker X Professional. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

In certain cases, when the similarity check results indicate a similarity level approaching the maximum threshold or are considered questionable, a secondary screening will be conducted using Turnitin, applying the same maximum similarity limit of 20%.
